Hey Chas, Listened to many of your songs and they were great! Wonderful rhyme and melody. You are a real tunesmith! My husband Danny is also a song writer and musician. It takes a real love and dedication to pursue at this level and still hold a full time "regular " job. Wishing you success and many more hours to ply your talent. Thanks for sending me the link! Belinda

Charlie - I love your song! The reunion was great - and you were missed. The best part for me besides seeing old friends was touring Elm Place. It was such a hoot. Paul Brickman just called to ask about the reunion, said he had gone to your site & listened to lots of your music - and we both remembered that we all went to Red Oak together as well as HPHS. Hope you make the next reunion!
Linda :!cool:

Admin reply: Linda, thanks for your post. It would be interesting to find out just how many others came from Red Oak. I can think of Jim Friedman and Carol Gordon as two. I only went there one year, fourth grade I think, but I couldn't find a class picture. Say hi! to Paul for me. Chas

I LOVE the song Chas (formerly known as "Charlie";)....the melody is catchy and up-beat, the lyrics poignant and spot-on. I am so sorry you won't be there this weekend. Those were formative years. If you ever get up this way, don't hesitate to get in touch. I think I might become one of your groupies...I really like your music. Best of luck and we'll hope to see you at the next reunion...2017,perhaps? sincerely, mary

Admin reply: Everybody appreciates an occasional pat on the back. Thanks for your kind words, Mary. I hope everyone had a great time at the reunion! Chas

Hey Charlie,

Your song is great -- thanks for memories, as they say... Do you remember dancing with me?

I'm disappointed that you won't make it to the reunion, but I know you'll be there in spirit. My fondest memories of you are that you made me laugh (even during our confirmation, as I recall!)

Can you put me in touch with Jeanette Badal? I see that we both live in Berkeley now.

Maybe I see you at the next HPHS reunion?

Be well,
Betty Aten

Admin reply: Betty,
So great to hear from you! I hope life has been kind to you and you are well. Yes, I most certainly remember dancing with you (my heart was all a-flutter as I recall!) As I mentioned in the song, those were times when we young men and women were having our first experience with romantic feelings - and weren't really prepared for something that powerful! But it was also a time of great innocence.

I sent a message to Jeanette Badal and gave her your email address. I'm sure she will make contact.

Wish you the very best...thanks again!

Chas

Hey Charlie! Wanted to tell you that I love your "Elm Place" song and just send you a shout out after all these decades. I'm happy to see that your creative spirit has flourished and produced wonderful music over the years. Regrettably, I cannot attend the EPS 50th reunion in August due to a prior commitment in Philadelphia and upstate New York. If you are going, enjoy that trip down memory lane with friends from our formative years.
All the best and love to you,
Jeanette Badal

Admin reply: Jeanette, thanks for your post. My memories of the good times with you and the other classmates is crystal clear. I won't be attending either, but my thoughts and best wishes will there with all. Hope everything is well with you and appreciate your kind words...Chas

Hey - I remember you from the mid 70's - Landscape With Cows - the only tune I remember is "Cool Breeze" - great song. I hung around with * * * Kline, Kenny Guerin, etc. Whatever happened to those guys?

Admin reply: Thanks for stopping by the website. Dick Klein is still in the area and in fact we have performed together a few times in recent years. For the most part, though, we are both musically retired from performing...

The dictionary defines depth as "the quality of being strongly felt". I think the depth of your music is what I appreciate most. In a world full of the shallow it is fine to enjoy something deeply felt. Thanks for sharing it with us.
